Tualatin Riverkeepers Celebrates Earth Day
It’s Earth Month, and Tualatin Riverkeepers is excited to be hosting more than a dozen events – volunteer projects, lectures, and river trips – to both celebrate the planet and to help restore the Tualatin River watershed.
Highlights of Tualatin Riverkeepers’ Earth Day celebration include restoration projects at Browns Ferry Park City of Tualatin and at Rood Bridge Park in City of Hillsboro. On April 21, the Riverkeepers will hold our annual Boat Show and Yard Sale, featuring more than two dozen used kayaks, canoes and standup paddleboards for sale, along with associated gear.
On April 24, we host a free public event, “Tualatin River: It’s Past, Present, and Future”, as part of our Watershed Science Series, sponsored by Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District. John Fervia, Tualatin River historian, will share some of the fascinating history of the river and Bob Baumgartner, Clean Water Services Regulatory Affairs Director, will discuss current threats to the river and watershed, and what the community can do to help protect it into the future.
We're also honored to participate in Earth Day celebrations with the City of Tigard and City of West Linn, and to be the recipient of events with Oakshire Brewing and Binary Brewing.
Complete information on Earth Day events, as well as boat rentals and guided river trips, can be found at tualatinriverkeepers.org.
